LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES

TERMS OF CONTRACT - The Contract is payable in 12 monthly installments. The first installment being due and payable on the 1st day of each month and is mailed to your property. The term of this contract is for a period of 12 months. Service will be performed weekly during the growing season, March through October and bi-weekly in the months of November through February. Since leaf removal season is our most labor-intensive time, we come every other week during this season and remove all your leaves and debris when we perform your service.

SCHEDULE OF SERVICES

LAWN GRASS MOWING

1. LAWN GRASS: Turf areas will be mowed weekly during the mowing season. Each time the lawn grass is cut, contractor will remove no more than 1/3 the total height of the grass.

2. GRASS EDGING: All areas will be trimmed weekly during the mowing season. In every case where a grass area abuts a paved area, or other such edge, the grass will be trimmed with weedeaters. The cropped line will be even and parallel to the edge to which the grass abuts. All clippings will be removed.

3. BLOWING: All sidewalks and parking curbline areas shall be cleaned of tree leaves, grass clippings, mulch and litter each week during the growing season and bi-weekly during the winter months. The debris shall be collected, removed and disposed of off site.

PRUNING

1. TREE PRUNING: During the winter months, if necessary, tree pruning will be done as follows. The landscape maintenance contractor is not responsible for pruning any trees above the canopy line. Domesticated shade trees shall be pruned only to correct damage or injury and to establish a canopy height of 6 feet above the ground for shade trees in ground cover areas and 8 feet above the ground in turf areas.

2. SHRUBS: Shrubs shall be pruned three times a year to encourage dense, compact growth, yet not to interfere with natural plant form. Azaleas and other spring flowering shrubs shall be pruned once following blooming. Summer flowering shrubs may be pruned during early spring.

3. GROUND COVER: All liriope species will be uniformly cropped to 2” ht. each spring prior to the emergence of new growth.

4. PRUNING OF EVERGEEN TREES: In the spring, all new shoots which sprout below this canopy line should be removed and the trunk will be kept clean throughout the spring and summer months. All water sprouts arising from the base of any standard or multi-trunk tree will be removed entirely and the trunk kept free of any sprouts throughout the spring and summer months.

LEAF REMOVAL

GENERAL: Fallen leaves from deciduous trees shall be removed from the lawns, shrub and ground cover beds during the winter months on a bi-weekly basis. Removed leaves shall be deposited at a designated location off site.

DEBRIS DISPOSAL

GENERAL: Each week, all litter and debris created by landscape maintenance functions will be collected and disposed of off site.

HERBICIDE APPLICATION

GENERAL: Round-up herbicide or an approved equal will be applied on a regular basis to all weeds existing in and around the ornamental trees, shrubs, and ground covers and on all types of pavement, gutters, curbs, sidewalks and natural areas.
